Regarding the use of Galectin-3 level as a prognostic and diagnostic marker, Baykan et al. found Galectin-3 level to be important in diagnosing typical pneumonia and the AUC value to be 0.89 (95% CI = 0.83-94), and no association was made with clinical seriousness of the patients. Here, LGALS3 is linked to susceptibility to pneumonia measurement.
