The lack of SUMOylation of aggregated LMNA mutant has been reported previously (Zhang & Sarge, 2008), and our finding of the loss of SUMOylated LMNAE262K in laminopathy‐associated progeroid condition supports the idea that aggregated nuclear LMNA restricts its SUMOylation by one or more mechanisms. This evidence concerns the gene LMNA and laminopathy.
