CSPG4 and telomere syndrome: In another study [44], Hsu et al. showed that the effects of CSPG4 on STS growth depended of the tumor developmental stage: in established murine and human STS, inhibition of CSPG4, using anti-CSPG4 antibody immunotherapy or gene deletion, decreased the cell proliferation and tumor size and increased apoptosis, whereas Ng2/Cspg4 deletion at the time of tumor initiation resulted in the opposite effect on tumor growth.
