AKT1 and Stroke: Interestingly, some features of the neuroprotective and anti-oxidativeeffects of our nanocompounds were similar to those of other promisingbiocompatible nanomaterials, tetrahedral framework nucleic acids (tFNAs),whose beneficial effects in a model stroke are mediated by downregulatingthe Toll-like receptor signaling pathway and activating PI3K-AKT (refs (65) and (66) and references therein). This suggests that flexible nanoplatforms targeted at several neuroprotectivemechanisms can be a basis for efficient multipurpose neuroprotectants.
