ATF6 and myopia: Since the activated form of ATF6 was strongly induced in the experimental group in which axial elongation was observed regardless of the implementation of the LIM, and knockdown of ATF6 by the CRISPR/Cas9 system suppressed axial elongation induced by the LIM, ATF6 in scleral fibroblasts appears to be a major regulator of axial elongation in myopia development.
