Treatment of mice undergoing chronic restraint stress with XYS significantly reduced TGF-β, IL-6, MMP-9, and VEGF mRNA and CD31 protein expression compared with mice in the blank-stress (BS) group, which indicated that XYS treatment reduced the effect of chronic restraint stress on the facilitation of cancer cell invasion and metastasis. The gene discussed is TGFB1; the disease is cancer.
