CRP and delirium: We demonstrated that the participants with higher postoperative CRP concentrations were more likely to have higher CAM-S peak scores before and after adjusting age, sex, preoperative MMSE score, and day of postoperative CRP measurement (mean difference [β] in delirium severity per one standard deviation increase in CRP: 0.47 points; 95% CI: 0.18–0.76, P = 0.002, Table 3).
