The PPARγ agonists rosiglitazone and pioglitazone were recently found to reduce the levels of 2-HG and H3K4me3 in the colon of mice with colitis and to regulate GSH and ROS levels in lamina propria lymphocytes by modulating GLS1/2-HG/H3K4me3 signaling in mouse models of colitis and asthma (52) (Table 1). The gene discussed is GLS; the disease is colitis.
