CD8+ T cell responses to the tested peptides were also common in individuals with type 1 diabetes, who responded with similar frequency to oxPTM-INSP-6 and Nt-INSP-4 (72.2% of patients showed SI>1 for both); such response was higher in type 1 diabetic compared with control participants for oxPTM-INSP-6 (72.2% vs 27.3%; p=0.02), but not for Nt-INSP-4 (72.2% vs 63.6%; p=NS) (ESM Table 5).
