Furthermore, patients with Peutz-Jehgers Syndrome (PJS, an inherited tumour predisposition syndrome caused by germline STK11 mutations) are at significantly increased risk of developing Minimal Deviation Adenocarcinoma, a rare and aggressive cervical malignancy that is not linked to HPV infection and sporadic cases of which frequently harbour somatic STK11 mutations78–80.
