GPX4 and non-small cell lung carcinoma: Previous studies have reported that ferroptosis plays a vital role in NSCLC, and certain genes, such as SLC7A11 (Ji et al., 2018; Kang et al., 2019) and GPX4 (Lai et al., 2019), are known to negatively regulate ferroptosis; moreover, NFS1, a ferroptosis-related gene, is most highly expressed in well-differentiated lung adenocarcinomas and protect cells from ferroptosis (Alvarez et al., 2017).
