A classification system based on seven miRNAs (miR-29a, miR-29c, miR-133a, miR-143, miR-145, miR-192, and miR-505) was suggested to have more significant sensitivity than alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) in distinguishing HCC cases from healthy controls, HBsAg inactive carriers, patients with chronic hepatitis B, and patients with HBV-cirrhosis. This evidence concerns the gene AFP and hepatocellular carcinoma.
