Chronic kidney disease (CKD) consists of a gradual and irreversible decline in kidneyfunction for 3 months or more, involving the glomerulus, tubules and their endocrineaction/ being clinically identified by a reduction in the glomerular filtration rateof less than 60 mL/min/1.73 m2; and/or increased urinary albumin excretion1,2.
