Likewise, in the current study, we investigated the effects of breastfeeding on other important genes in the obesity and diabetes pathways, such as BDNF, LXR‐α, PPAR‐γ, ACAC‐B, and PTEN, and noticed that breastfeeding significantly affected PPAR‐γ and ACAC‐B genes, confirming the epigenetic effects of human milk, which is deficient or absent in formula feeding. The gene discussed is PTEN; the disease is obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
