TP53 and head and neck cancer: Finally, one of the well-known differences between benign (KD) and malignant (HSC2) cell lines was clear: head and neck cancers, including oral squamous cell carcinoma, are generally recognized as having the highest rate of p53 mutation (Olivier et al., 2010), and KD has wild-type p53 but HSC2 has mutant-type p53 (NM_001126113.3:c.672 + 1G > A) (JCRB Cell Bank, 1997).
