DSG3 and pemphigus: Pemphigus is an autoimmune bullous disease characterized by skin and mucous membrane blisters and erosions with intraepidermal blister formation caused by IgG autoantibodies directed against adhesion proteins, desmoglein 1 (Dsg1) and desmoglein 3 (Dsg3), located in the desmosomes between epidermal keratinocytes.1, 2
