IL1B and depressive disorder: Indeed, over the years we have been able to replicate all our results obtained in this in vitro model in both the animal brain and the human blood, including changes in neurogenesis by cortisol, antidepressants, IL1β, IFN-α, and serum samples from depressed patients, and changes in stress-, antidepressants- and inflammation-regulated mRNA gene expression in both the hippocampal mRNA of animal models of depression and the whole blood mRNA of depressed patients [22, 25, 28, 30–34, 40, 68].
