In vitro and in vivo studies have shown that the combination of curcumin and resveratrol enhances the apoptotic effects of head and neck cancer cells, including upregulation of PARP-1 cleavage and the Bax/Bcl-2 ratio and downregulation of ERK1 and ERK2 phosphorylation. This evidence concerns the gene PARP1 and head and neck cancer.
