Initial laboratory results revealed a high level of inflammatory markers, including a C-reactive protein (CRP) of 156.8 mg/l, an erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) of 100 mm/hour, procalcitonin (PCT) of 13.84 (Table 1), leukocytosis with neutrophilia, and lymphopenia (Table 2). Here, CRP is linked to lymphopenia.
