During this survey, the participants were tested by rapid diagnostic test (RDT) at the site of recruitment, and dried blood spots were prepared for subsequent analyses including a malaria diagnosis by nucleic acid testing such as a polymerase chain reaction and loop-mediated isothermal amplification, sequencing of P. falciparum chloroquine resistance transporter, and sequencing of the human G6PD gene. Here, G6PD is linked to malaria.
