Given that anti-dsDNA antibodies have been involved in tissue inflammation and damage of SLE patients (29, 30), and that the potential relevance of anti-DFS70 antibodies with inflammatory conditions was suggested by present and previous studies, the mechanism of a positive association of anti-DFS70 antibodies with anti-dsDNA in SLE patients warrants further investigation. The gene discussed is PSIP1; the disease is systemic lupus erythematosus.
