An increasing number of studies have found that certain key factors influence the progression of tumors in an age-dependent manner, for example, AKR1B10, which is highly expressed in liver cancer tissues and is positively correlated with the level of alpha fetoprotein and the proportion of liver cell steatosis, was identified as a crucial gene in the increase of carcinogenesis with age (52, 53). This evidence concerns the gene AKR1B10 and liver cancer.
