Deregulated expression of let-7 miRNA family, miR-18a and miR-143 (which all have involvement in the regulation of K-RAS expression), of miR-126 and miR-21 that regulate the phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase (PI-3-K) pathway, and a cluster of miRNAs (miR-92a, miR-17, miR-19a, miR-18a, miR-19b, and miR-20a) are linked to regulation of c-myc, which is suspected to have a role in transitioning from early adenoma to advanced adenoma. This evidence concerns the gene MYC and adenoma.
