It has previously been observed that the expression of MRC2 is aberrantly upregulated in a variety of cancers and associated with poor prognosis, upregulated in including breast cancer, prostate cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, as well as head and neck cancer (Sulek et al., 2007; Wienke et al., 2007; Kogianni et al., 2009; Palmieri et al., 2013; Gai et al., 2014). This evidence concerns the gene MRC2 and cancer.
