CXCL12 and neoplasm: Studies have demonstrated that the immune infiltration of B cells in the tumor microenvironment is associated with a survival advantage in patients with cervical (Abdul Rahman et al., 2020), breast (Hassel et al., 2021), and high-grade serous ovarian (Montfort et al., 2017) cancer; B cells are recruited through the binding of CXCL12 and CXCR4 (Greenbaum et al., 2013).
