Although the TGF-β score is closely related to immune cell infiltration and immune checkpoint expression, we found that the response of the TGF-β-activated and -inactivated clusters to immune checkpoint inhibitors was not statistically significant, which means that the TGF-β score cannot be used to guide immunotherapy in ccRCC patients. This evidence concerns the gene TGFB1 and nonpapillary renal cell carcinoma.
