SCARB1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus: Pérez-Martínez et al. reported that the insulin sensitivity of T2DM patients carrying SCARB1 rs4238001 GA genotype is significantly increased as compared with those carrying GG after ingestion of monounsaturated fatty acids (23), suggesting the impact of the SCARB1 genetic variants on modifying the susceptibility of T2DM patients to lipid metabolism.
