The association of SCARB1 rs5888 genetic polymorphism with the risk of T2DM was found in the dominant model, which was demonstrated by a decreased risk for T2DM in subjects with the major genotype (GG) as compared with the minor allele carrier (GA, AA) (OR = 0.636, 95% CI: 0.421–0.962). This evidence concerns the gene SCARB1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
