BCL2 and Cerebral ischemia: Finally, a study conducted by Engelhard et al. showed that administration of 1 mg/kg/min of S(+)‐ketamine and O2 prior to incomplete cerebral ischemia in rats resulted in reduced expression of pro‐apoptotic proteins (Bax) and increased in anti‐apoptotic proteins (Bcl2), as evidenced by the results of Western Blot analysis.14
