CD36 and neoplasm: By analyzing LCFA profile based on GC-MS, a substantially reduced abundance of LCFAs was observed in tumor-treated macrophages from Cd36−/− mice, with a greater fold reduction in saturated and mono-unsaturated fatty acid species (Fig. 5j and Supplementary Fig. 7g, h), indicating that the lipidomic alterations observed in Cd36−/− macrophages might be attributed to defect uptake of tumor-derived LCFAs.
