Previous research has demonstrated that DNMT1 could activate the PI3K/Akt/mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) pathway in diabetic retinopathy [64])and 3,6-dihydroxyflavone (3,6-DHF), an effective DNMT1 inhibitor, suppresses the PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway in breast carcinogenesis [65]. This evidence concerns the gene MTOR and diabetic retinopathy.
