In the recent update of the WHO Classification of Central Nervous Tumours in 2021, meningiomas are classified into CNS WHO grades 1–3 according to histopathological features such as the number of mitotic figures, invasive growth pattern, specific morphological subtypes and anaplastic features but also genetic characteristics such as telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) promoter mutations or homozygous deletions of CDKN2A/2B [2]. This evidence concerns the gene CDKN2A and meningioma.
