Several studies revealed that the SNPs of rs1007616, rs735482 and rs3212986 located in the 3′ untranslated region (UTR) of ERCC1 could reduce the stability of its mRNA and further affect DNA repair capacity,23, 24 which reminded us that the post‐transcriptional regulation of ERCC1 might play a crucial role in the development of lung cancer.25, 26. The gene discussed is ERCC1; the disease is lung carcinoma.
