MALAT1 and cancer: Increasing evidence has suggested that lncRNAs could play critical roles in almost all biological processes, including cell differentiation, proliferation, and apoptosis.[25] Multiple studies have also revealed that lncRNAs could be potential cancer diagnostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets, such as HOTAIR,[26] MALAT1,[27] and TUG1.[28] Previous studies have reported that HAND2-AS1 is a tumor-suppressor gene, and its low expression was correlated with aggressive clinicopathological features and unfavorable survival outcomes.
