Genes implicated in microglial/macrophage activation [Clec7a: FC = 14.7, Ccl3: FC = 11.7, Cst7: FC = 9.0, Trem2: FC = 5.4, Tyrobp: FC = 4.36, Cd68: FC = 3.6] as well as complement activation (Itgax: FC = 5.5, C4a: FC = 4.2) were most highly upregulated in 10-month-old 5xFAD-WT mice (Fig. 4A), supporting the role of neuroinflammation in AD pathogenesis.
