Here, we found that Agpat5 silencing in GT1-7 cells increased OCR and ATP production, an effect that could be blocked by pharmacological inhibition of Cpt1a, or by silencing Cpt1a. In mice, inactivation of Cpt1a in AgRP neurons of AgRPAgpat5KO mice restored their normal activation by hypoglycemia as determined by c-Fos immunostaining and patch clamp analysis.
