Reductions in both CD3 and CD4 T cell infiltration were observed in the VLNT group in comparison to the lymphedema group (CD3: 12.00 ± 5.94 vs 24.13 ± 4.2911 cells/HPF; CD4: 30.33 ± 13.33 vs 52.33 ± 28.44 cells/HPF, p < 0.0001) (Figure 3). This evidence concerns the gene CD4 and lymphedema.
