In the dextran sodium sulfate (DSS)-induced colitis mouse model, both the mRNA and protein levels of ADAMDEC1 were significantly higher in colonic mucosal platelet-derived growth factor receptor-alpha (PDGFRα)-positive cells compared with other cell types in the colonic mucosa, which suggested that this gene might be a potential drug target for colitis (21). The gene discussed is ADAMDEC1; the disease is colitis.
