PKM and neoplasm: ESCO2 inhibits the nuclear translocation of hnRNPA1 and increases the binding of hnRNPA1 (heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein A1) to the intron sequence flanking exon 9 (EI9) of PKM RNA, which ultimately inhibites the formation of PKM1 isoforms and induces the formation of PKM2 isoforms to promote glycolysis of tumor cells, and accelerate the metabolism of tumor cells (45).
