In conclusion, our findings indicate that propolis improves dysbiosis, resulting in a decrease in oxidative stress, an increase in thermogenesis, an increase in the excretion of saturated fatty acids into faeces due to the decrease in the expression of CD36 in the small intestine, an improvement in fatty liver and prevention of sarcopenia obesity by improving the mitochondrial function of skeletal muscle. The gene discussed is CD36; the disease is sarcopenia.
