BATF and Hyperkeratosis: The histology of tail skins from the estradiol-treated male BATF–/– mice at 24 weeks of age highlighted the thickening of the epidermis, with acanthosis, hypogranulosis, mild hyperkeratosis, and more inflammatory cell infiltration when compared with the tail skins from the estradiol-treated WT controls and sesame oil-treated male BATF–/– mice (Figure 4(c)).
