Deoda et al. found that methanolic extract of R. cordifolia (100, 200 or 400 mg/kg body weight) and chloroform fraction of R. cordifolia (50, 100 or 200 mg/kg body weight) brought notable decrease of ulcer index, total acidity, protein, pepsin content of the gastric fluid, and increased of the mucin content in an aspirin plus pylorus-ligated ulcer rat model. The gene discussed is MUC5AC; the disease is ulcer disease.
