Several laboratory tests have been studied for the diagnosis of leprosy, such as the use of anti-PGL1, which showed lower sensitivity than other antigens but did not affect specificity, and a meta-analysis showed mean sensitivity of 59.1% (95% CI 50.6–671) and specificity of 91.7% (95% CI 83.9–94.9). The gene discussed is SDHD; the disease is leprosy.
