When applying a Ki-67>3% and a positive p53 staining a strong prognostic value was reflected in a recent ESE survey where at least one pathology marker was available for 34 carcinomas: Ki-67 ≥3% was the most frequent positive marker in 85%, p53 positivity in 78% and a mitotic count in 90% (15). The gene discussed is TP53; the disease is carcinoma.
