In the current study, we showed that Pol-specific CD8+ T cells suppressed HIV-1 replication compared with Gag-specific CD8+ T cells in HIV-1 subtype A/E-infected HLA-B*15:02+ individuals, although whether Pol-specific CD8+ T cells contribute to the control of HIV-1 infection more than Gag-specific CD8+ T cells in subtype A/E infections remains unclear. This evidence concerns the gene HLA-B and infection.
