Analysis of virulence factors (placing special emphasis on toxins) revealed an increase in toxin-related genes in CDI-positive groups, especially intrahospital-related ones (Fig. 5A), with the Escherichiacoli toxins (astA) heat-stable enterotoxin 1 (W = 405, P = 0.003821) and (rtxB) RTX toxin transporter, and ATPase protein (W = 378.5, P = 0.03206) being different. Here, DNAH8 is linked to clostridium difficile infection.
