These SNPs have not been studied in BC previously; however, various SDC4 SNPs have previously been linked to melanomas, bladder carcinomas, osteosarcomas, colon, testicular and haematological malignancies, as well as cervical and ovarian cancers (Barbouri et al. 2014; Okolicsanyi et al. 2015), while ATM gene SNPs have been linked to breast, ovarian and pancreatic cancers (Gao et al. 2019; Renault et al. 2018). Here, ATM is linked to breast cancer.
