Quercetin-induced autophagy and apoptosis levels were decreased when the phosphorylation of AMPK was blocked by compound C. Since the mechanism of quercetin′s anti-leukemia effect is related to AMPK/mTOR signaling pathway, we speculate that quercetin may activate AMPK and inhibit the phosphorylation of mTOR, thus inducing autophagy and apoptosis in the HL-60 cells. The gene discussed is PRKAA2; the disease is leukemia.
