GPT and prediabetes syndrome: NC was positively and independently associated with incident elevation of ALT in Cox proportional hazards regression adjusted for age, sex, BMI, and glycemic status (hazard ratio 1.076 (95% CI 1.015–1.14, p = 0.0131) per 1-cm increase in NC); both prediabetes and type 2 diabetes were also significant predictors (hazard ratios 2.044 (95% CI 1.377–3.034), 2.148 (95% CI 1.419–3.25), respectively, see also Figure 3).
