The study reported elevated levels of urine and serum neutrophil gelatinase-related lipid carrier protein (NGAL), urinary IL-18, Kim-1, Netrin-1, sCD163, and serum estradiol and serum soluble thrombolytic regulatory protein in sepsis-associated acute kidney injury and concluded urinary Kim-1 > urinary NGAL > blood NGAL > urinary IL-18 as a sequence for diagnosis. Here, LCN2 is linked to acute kidney injury.
