NFKB1 and colitis: In a murine model of colitis, Platycodin D could ameliorate the clinical symptoms and colonic pathological damage, reduce the levels of inflammation, and protect intestinal integrity via suppression of M1 macrophage polarization and promotion of M2 macrophage polarization by promoting activation of PI3K/Akt signaling pathway and suppressing of activation of NF-κB signaling pathways, which was closely related to activation of AMPK(Guo et al., 2021).
